They call them karuveppilai podi…spicy, aromatic spice powder used as taste enhancer with rasam rice or sambar rice combination, the main ingredient for this recipe is fresh curry leaves with other supporting dry spices. Generally, it is used as a side dish to rice, but it also tastes great when served and mixed with ghee or coconut oil and rice.

Curry leaves have a lot of medicinal properties. It is rich in calcium and has vitamin A. Oil made from curry leaves is said to prevent hair fall and delay hair greying.
