Description

Pineapple aka Ananas (अनानास) is such a versatile fruit. In addition to being eaten as it is, it works wonderfully in sweet and savory dishes. Personally, I love working with such versatile ingredients. What I have created this time is sweet, spicy and very slightly tangy, Pineapple Chutney.

This chutney will work as a perfect condiment with your fried food such as bread pakoras, samosas, etc. during monsoons. Also, in case you like some chutneys with your pooris, this is going to be it. Do not forget to order our very own Bedmi Poori Mix and enjoy this chutney with some hot bedmi pooris.

For all those folks, who are not into jams, try this chutney on a plain slice of bread, or in your sandwiches and thank me later :P. This chutney is so versatile, I even marinated some chicken in this chutney and grilled it which resulted in a perfectly charred sweet and smoky grilled chicken. One can do the same with cottage cheese/paneer.

This chutney is quite labor intensive as only the freshest of the pineapples are used to make this delicious chutney. I would never commit the sin of using tinned pineapples in this delicious chutney. Of course, there is something about using fresh ingredients, most importantly, satisfaction.

This chutney is flavored with fennel seeds and nigella seeds. To add some texture and pop of sweetness, raisins are added. Desi khand is used to sweeten the chutney. A final tempering of mustard seeds and curry leaves takes this chutney to a next gastronomical level. I think what I have created is an amalgamation of different flavors of our beautiful country.

If chutneys are your thing, this NEEDS to be in your refrigerator, so hurry up and order a jar or few.
