Some variants are made with roasted chana dal (hulled black chickpeas), puffed rice, roasted amaranth seeds or sesame seeds, or a mix of various nuts and dry fruits.
Chikki is made by stirring crunchy roasted & Skinned nuts in a hot viscous sugar syrup. The hot mixture is allowed to set hard as slabs which are further sliced to squares or bite sized portions.

Also known as gud dani, gud patti, kadalai mittai and palli patti, chikki is everyone’s favorite and is enjoyed in all parts of India.
